Pavilion, KL

Saturday! I lurve Saturday! Wether we'd be splish-splashing at the waterfalls or on a heavy prowl for something goooood to eat!! It was only 10th Jan, my birthday was another 2 days away but Al insisted on celebrating on the weekend. No problem, just tell me where we're going! Eee malunya! Tak pernah pi Pavilion! So off we went, and instead of ooohh aahhhing over the top shops, we followed our noses to the very talked about Food Court :P  Banyak sangat choice of restaurants and types of food!  Initially I wanted to have something really oriental like Japanese... ada Tepanyaki, tapi kena tunggu lama sangat... We spent about half an hour just to decide on which food to choose.. and ta ra! We gorged on these delights!...

Zachwan and his top of the list pick of the century... really splurged on the meat and rendang! That serving was good for 2 adults! Three of his fav dishes; beef rendang tok, chicken rendang and beef serunding.. and topped it off with sunny side up :) Mahal sikit, I think it was close to RM12, but like I said, it was good to fill up 2 person and it was d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s.

I'm not sure what this was, Zafran's choice of food is always on the safer side.. something that will definitely fill him up good, and preferably stir fried.  Wok Rice with Squids I think.. I didn't get to taste it, but he said it was yummy.  Zafran isn't picky about food anyway..

I was in the mood of Vietnamese Cuisine, and had these Chicken Roll with Fresh Salad and Vermicelli Noodle Spring Rolls. They were prepared quite fresh and the sauces were savory. But I had to pick out the mint leaves, cos that's one thing Vietnamese that I find annoying.  It tasted like somebody put a toothpaste in my salad ;(  Overall, it was not so bad. Both dish costs me around RM15 and even though Zafree shared the salad with me, there were still some leftovers.. ;)

Ha! Al's choice for the Pavilion brunch! Fit for a king! A BBQ Duck Rice set ;P I didn't get to taste these either, by the time I wanted to.. everything was gone! But that's quite all right, lain kali boleh datang lagi!

Jalan-jalan sket kat Pavilion ni sambil menikmati keindahan dekorasi tema Chinese New Year.. wow! walaupun kelembapan ekonomi merata dunia, Pavillion tetap bermandikan bunga-bunga Sakura (tipu ones, of course!), and sooo many Lilies!!! the whole lobby area and along the steps from the main entrance were scattered with these lovely scented fresh flowers and it seemed money isn't big of a problem with this Tan..

The children enjoyed themselves and we even had the sweet and peanutty Dragon Beard Candy.  These sweet desserts once only enjoyed among emperors are becoming something that we always look forward to have during CNY festivals.  Traditionally hand spun, these sweet delights unfortunately have becoming more expensive or perhaps I was buying it at the wrong locations... should get some at Petaling Street perhaps, if there were any being sold there..

After a few hours of window shopping, dining at Tarbush at nearby Starhill, we were getting thirsty and slighty peckish again.. and this time Zafree insisted on having Carl's Jr.  Too bad we were not THAT hungry and only ordered some shakes, a single burger and that oh-so-to-die-for Cheesy Fries :P ish..ish sungguhlah menggemukkan kan dan berkolesterol tinggi.. tapi bukannya selalu dapat pi Carl's Jr kan...

So there! A single day of eating out and by he time we reached home, we were tired with our stomachs obscenely full :) Amazingly, there were still some room for these little devils...

By this time, da agak boring sikit lar nak makan doughnuts jer... J-Co, Apple, Gloria and that has-been Dunkin' pun... those adorable Chewy Jr cream puffs were really delicious and I felt so dissatisfied with myself for not buying 2 boxes instead... o well, like i've said earlier, nanti boleh pi lagi! ;D

Tarbush, Starhill

Its not even my birthday yet, but we went out anyway in search of good food and it has been quite sometime we have not been to the city malls.  Since we were already in the vicinity, we decided to check out Starhill and yay! Tarbush!  I've been dying to taste the delightful Lebanese cuisine by this restaurant for a while now and so glad I finally will just before my birthday :)

heh heh! I wanted to get a table just like the ones Siti Nurhaliza did (not like I'm a fan or something, simply seeking cheap thrills!).. so we almost did, fancy middle eastern surroundings and eventhough we were already full from the brunch at Pavillion, we were quite excited to sample the food and ordered a couple of heavy ones to share among us.  So these were what was brought to our table.. yum!

Some yummy mutton samosa and Tarbush Tahinna.. both were super duper yummy!!

The Grilled Spring Chicken.. slurp! I never knew that having the tender and moist chicken with onion salad would taste so good!

The Lamb Bryani... I'm literally drooling while writing this ;P  It was so tasty, eventhough not much gravy but the aromas from the saffron was such an overwhelming experience!  I am so used to the typical mamak bryani and bukharas, but the taste of this Lebanese version surprised me!  A bit pricey, but quite worth the spending :)
